HARBOUR SURFBOARDS
In 1962 Harbour Surfboards opened for business led by owner and founder, Rich Harbour. Rich Harbour's success was immediate due in large part to his selection of very powerful team members and very popular 60s model surfboards.
The Harbour Surfboards team was headed up by Jock Southerland also known as “MR. Pipeline” who at the time was a top finisher in the world contest. U.S champion, Mark Martinson, who was also test pilot for some of Harbors most popular models. Also, Steve Bigler, winner of a number of major West Coast contests.
Many of the periods most ridden models were built by Harbour Surfboards.
Here’s a sample of some of the better known models.
- 1964- Banana Model
- 1965- Trestle Special
- 1966- Cheater
- 1968- Rapier
